Quartz var. Faden, Pakistan

$30.00

Quartz var. Faden

Locality: Tole, Wana, South Waziristan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan

This beauty is a great example of faden quartz, with one line of crystals dominating the piece. All crystals (parts of the crystal) are fully terminated, with no contact points, making this a “floater”. All crystals have beautifully glass-clear tips transitioning to the milky “string” faden quartz is known for.

Faden quartz is characterized by the “faden line” running through the crystals. The faden line can be in a single crystal, generally with a flattened or elongated form. This variety of quartz gets its name from the German word for string, “faden”, and is accordingly pronounced “fah-den”.

Dimensions:

Height: 3.80 cm

Width: 2.57 cm

Depth: 1.21 cm
