Planet mine, nestled in the Buckskin Mountains of Arizona has been mined for copper ore since its discovery in 1863, almost 50 years before Arizona became a state. The ore at this location is always brightly colored shades of blue and green, with a majority of the mineralization being malachite, chrysocolla, and chalcanthite.

The emerald green, matte finish malachite typical of this locality is evident here, with hundreds of incredibly tiny spheres of malachite coming together to form a carpet of green covering the specimen.
